1 cup butter
½ cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 ¼ cup flour
¼ tsp. salt
3/5 cup finely chopped toasted pecans
Mix butter, sugar, and vanilla thoroughly. Blend in flour and salt. Mix in nuts. Chill dough. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Roll dough in 1” balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet (cookies do not spread). Bake 10-12 min, or until set but not brown. While still warm, roll in powdered sugar. Let cool. Roll in powdered sugar again. Makes 4 dozen.

1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup chopped seeded tomatoes
6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
3 chopped shallots
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Serve with toasted baguettes.
