At FLEXX Productions, we’re committed to staying up-to-date and ahead of the curve when it comes to technology. Most recently, we introduced an RFID system to better help manage our inventory and improve our overall customer service. Over the past few months, our team has perfected this technology so that it can be seamlessly incorporated as we continue to expand and replenish our products.
The RFID system is pretty straight forward: a tag is attached to each product, usually sewn in, placed in a pocket or adhered via heat. Then, the product’s information (i.e. color, size, rental history) is digitally recorded using a unique software. Once all the products are tagged and information has been saved, products are ready to be checked in and out.
While eventually we hope to have ALL of our products in the RFID system, we are starting out with just our linens. Due to the simple fact that we have thousands of linen products at FLEXX Productions, tagging and logging each linen is certainly a work in progress. We’re thrilled to launch this project and look forward to hearing your feedback.
How does the RFID system benefit FLEXX?
The main reason we’re transitioning to RFID is for improved tracking.
This new tag technology allows us to know:
- How many linens are currently checked out
- Where the linens are (client, type of event)
- When the linens are expected to be back in the warehouse
- When the linens are officially back in the warehouse
- Which linens are still waiting to be washed
- Which linens are ready to be rented by you for your next event!
As FLEXX continues to expand our inventory, the RFID system will help us maintain the high level of customer service our customers have come to expect. Especially with linens, the system will guarantee greater accuracy when checking inventory in and out, preventing runbacks and making sure our valued clients receive precise orders. Our number one priority is making sure our customers are satisfied each time they rent with us!
