Ever since Kate Middleton displayed her sapphire engagement ring in 2010, sapphire color schemes have become all the rage in wedding and special event décor.

Sapphires are a deep blue gemstone often used in fine jewelry. Sapphires naturally vary in shades of blue, so designing a sapphire color scheme can be tricky if you are looking a very specific shade of sapphire. It is best to be flexible and incorporate a monochromatic color scheme with navies and royal blues. Embrace sapphire’s icy hue with cool accent colors like pearl, ivory, gray and silver.
