Fall 2020 Backyard Wedding Ideas + Tips
We know a lot of couples have had to adjust their original summer wedding plans this year. We’re here to tell you that fall weddings are just as gorgeous, and actually, even more popular in recent years! Our team is here to assist with the redesign of your special day. Read on for our top tips for fall 2020 weddings.
Rent a Tent
When gathering with loved ones during this strange time, we have all heard that it is best to still stay 6’ apart and remain outdoors when possible. Backyard weddings have therefore become an especially excellent option this year. That said, you never know what weather you are going to in the fall season, especially in Colorado. It could be nice, sunny, and warm, or it could be cloudy, chilly, and rainy. Either way, a tent is always a safe bet to protect your guests by providing shade and coverage. View our options here!
Add some sidewalls (we carry solid white walls, window walls, and even clear walls!) if you are worried about some weather rolling in. Leaving a few sides open, or opening up some walls on a fully walled tent, will allow for great air flow for your guests. Add some decorative lighting to your tent such as twinkle lights or market light strands to dress it up and create an ambiance.
Host an Intimate Ceremony
Consider hosting a smaller, outdoor ceremony outside followed by a larger, spread out outdoor reception to encourage safe health practices. This way, those who you hold closest to your heart are still there to witness the special occasion, and your other friends and family can join the celebration shortly after. Keeping loved ones safe is the most important, and your guests will understand.
Signage, Signage, Signage
Create friendly reminders for loved ones with fun, unique signs. Here are some of our favorite examples!
Pampas Grass
Okay, we love this trend. We have been seeing this all over this year at outdoor weddings, and it’s particularly perfect for September, October, and November weddings. This dried greenery is so natural and “Colorado looking”, and it pairs perfectly with any fall color palette, both bold and muted. Add it to your center pieces, down your aisle, or hang it from your tent.
Social Distance Style Guest Seating
We recommend creating space between guests by putting less chairs at larger tables. We’re happy to help and create CAD layouts to provide better visuals.
Wedding Favors
Who thought we’d ever be giving out hand sanitizers as a way to show our love and thanks? Well, turns out it’s pretty cute, though.
