He popped the questions and you said yes! Now what?!  Here is a step-by-step guide to getting your wedding planning started.

1. Shout It From the Rooftops!
Traditionally, the bride’s parents are told first, then the groom’s. Then plow through your phone book and tell your friends and family (yes, even the ones you really never talk to).

2. Get Your Ring Sized…ASAP!
You’ll be showing it off to all your friends, family and co-workers, so be sure it doesn’t slip off and you lose the thing an hour after you get it! Some jewelers can resize a ring within a couple hours and some can take days.

3. Set a Date and Compile a Guest List.
Now it’s time to get down to business. Setting a date and approximate guest count for your wedding not only helps determine a feel for your wedding, but also determines logistics, cost, and availability.

4. “Pin” Away!
Create a board designated especially for your upcoming nuptials. Pin anything and everything that catches your eye. It may not seem that you have a style yet, but a great wedding planner will be able to sort through your board and find common threads that can help you design your weddings style.

5. Hire a Wedding Coordinator.
A great wedding planner can make all the difference in your wedding planning experience. L.ci Events has a team of event experts that work hard to take the stress off your wedding décor and planning. Don’t let the details overshadow the joy of your wedding; hire a wedding coordinator!

6. Secure a Wedding Venue.
Let your wedding coordinator help you find the perfect venue for your wedding. Your wedding coordinator will have a list of preferred venues so you can be sure that you are choosing a trusted vendor.

7. Walk Away!
Yes, just walk away! Take a moment and enjoy being engaged! You have already made the biggest decisions, so take pleasure in a dinner alone with your new fiancé (and please talk about something besides your wedding…your fiancé will appreciate it)!

8. Get Planning but Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff!
Stuff happens. Plans will change. Let your wedding coordinator worry about the details. At the end of the day, it is important to be thankful for what you have and remember why this all started – because you have a great person in your life that wants to spend his life with you!
